A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants for 53 individuals, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, Rehana’s daughter Tulip Siddiq, and son Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby. The warrants were issued in connection with three separate corruption cases related to the alleged illegal allocation of plots.
Senior Special Judge of the Dhaka Metropolitan Court, Md Zakir Hossain, issued the order on Sunday after formally taking into cognizance the charge sheets submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in the three cases.
Sources at the court said that the ACC recently submitted charge sheets in the court against 53 people in three separate cases filed on allegation of corruption in plot allocation.
